Joy McKenna is president and majority share holder of Research Management Corporation, a full-service asset management and property management firm headquartered in Miami. She has been in the commercial real estate field in excess of 30 years. Research Management Corporation operates commercial properties throughout the United States including, Atlanta, Coral Gables, Decatur, Doral, Jacksonville, Lexington, Miami, Nashville, New York City, Plantation, Tallahassee, and Tampa. Currently they have $350 million dollars of assets under management comprised of approximately 30 buildings of various types.
Ms. Mckenna oversees the assets with a team of professionals who have been together for more than two decades. Their work includes underwriting, financing, due diligence, insurance, staffing, renovations, management, leasing and disposition. RMC also handles all the financials and corporate support for the properties, while qualified staff are located at each asset to handle the day to day operations.
Ms. McKenna obtained her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from University of Florida and her MBA in Real Estate Management and Development from Nova Southeastern. She is a licensed Real Estate Broker and has the Certified Shopping Center Manager designation from the International Council of Shopping Center. She has held licenses as a mortgage broker and condominium association manger (CAM).
Ms. McKenna spent 15 years on the Board of CREW Miami (Commercial Real Estate Women) in various positions including President, Treasurer and Secretary. She currently serves as Treasurer. Ms. Mckenna serves on the board of The Women’s Fund of Miami Dade and holds the position of Treasurer and Chairs the Finance committee.
