Barbara E. Champoux, Esq.
Barbara is highly experienced in both real estate and corporate law matters, primarily concentrating her practice in a wide variety of commercial real estate, finance, restructuring and asset-based transactions. She advises CEOs, CFOs, GCs, other senior executives, and facilities managers, on deal and entity structuring, and managing their legal, business and operating risks using a holistic approach.
Leading complex high stakes commercial transactions, Barbara has been widely recognized as a consummate deal-maker and closer. As a result, she is a trusted client business advisor, often serving as de facto outside general counsel, representing public and private companies, nonprofits and public benefit corporations, and investors. Barbara excels as an effective troubleshooter and creative problem-solver for them.
Throughout her career, Barbara has been an especially passionate and active advocate for the advancement of diversity, inclusion and equity in business and the community.
Joining CREW Network in 2001, she has led and served on many of its Committees, is a past CREWNY President, and is currently serving as: a CREW Network Recognition Committee member, and CREWNY’s CREW Careers Program manager. A few of her extensive endeavors also include: Director, Youth Empowerment Mission; Scholarship Committee Member, WX (Women Executives in New York Real Estate); Member, NYC Bar Association Diversity and Inclusion Committee (developed the Statement of Diversity Principles adopted by over 150 law firms); and leader of various AmLaw 100 firm committees focused on developing and implementing diversity enhancement policies.
Barbara has recently been working along with leading CRE women in NYC to support NY Presbyterian/Columbia Hospital’s patients and staff impacted by COVID-19.
